There are many 'Academic Preparation Courses' or 'Pathway Programmes' available with January starts which give the chance for students who have not met the entry qualifications for degree programmes to improve their qualifications and gain access to the degree programmes.
- For Undergraduate students these are usually called Foundation Programmes and are deisigned to allow students who have completed M6 to go into Undergraduate programmes in UK Universities.
- For Postgraduates they are designed to allow students with weaker English or lower GPAs the chance to get an offer for their chosen course.
Increasingly these courses are taught at the University by an International College or an INTO Centre.
